"Our hope is that they [the US and Russian teams] are able to come to an agreement and that we can move forward on the agreement… If it isn’t in the next hours, as I say, it will be in the next day or so," Kerry stated.
The United States wants to reach an agreement "sooner rather than later," Kerry noted, adding he is "confident" the team of US and Russian technical and military experts will be able to resolve the issues that led to the recent fracturing of the Syrian ceasefire.
“[Russian Foreign] Minister [Sergei] Lavrov made clear that he hopes within hours that we will be able to work this out as our teams on a military-to-military basis are working through the details that need to be implemented so that this can be restored,” Kerry explained.
