MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the poll by the independent research organization Levada-Center, as many as 74 percent believe that protests over the declining living standards are unlikely to happen, while 19 percent of the respondents disagree with them.
In case of such protests, only 11 percent of the respondents said they were ready to join, while 82 percent would definitely abstain from protesting, according to the poll.
The protest potential over political issues is also weak, as 83 percent of the respondents would not be engaged in any kind of political protests, while 73 percent believe political protests would not take place in Russia.
According to the poll, only 2 percent of the respondents have taken part in a public action within the last 12 month.
The poll was conducted between April 22 and 25 among 1,600 people in Russian 137 cities and towns.
