MOSCOW (Sputnik) — In recent months, Turkey's southern districts have been subjected to shelling from territories in Syria occupied by Daesh. Turkish troops deployed in the vicinity of the country's border with Syria retaliated by shelling Daesh targets.
"Daesh should be cleared from the region. This is the most permanent solution… It should be removed from the Manbij region [Daesh-occupied part of Syria] and cleared toward the south," Cavusoglu told reporters, as quoted by Hurriyet Daily News.
He also expressed regret when talking of the positions Daesh still possesses in both Syria and Iraq, despite the international anti-terror efforts.
