TALLINN (Sputnik) — Estonian and Russian specialists are carrying out a research raid across the lakes located on the border between the two states in order to create the joint interstate system of protection of the water resources, Estonian media reported Thursday.
According to the Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR), the specialists from the two states will explore the Chudskoe, Pskovskoe and Teploe lakes in order to work out a joint program of preservation of natural resources in the region and to present the results to the joint Russian-Estonian intergovernmental commission.
The broadcaster added that the sides were expected to share experience in order to preserve water and fish resources of the region on behalf of both Tallinn and Moscow.
The research raid was expected to last until the end of the week, according to the ERR.
