The coalition formed around Serbia’s ruling Progressive Party — "Aleksandar Vucic (Serbian Prime Minister) — Serbia wins" emerged as a winner with 48.25 percent of the votes, according to the electoral commission.
On April 24, 3,270 candidates from 20 political parties and coalitions ran in elections to Serbia's 250-seat National Assembly. Multiple violations forced the authorities to partially annul voting results, with elections having been held for the second time at some polling stations on May 4.
The new parliament is due to hold its first session no later than 30 days after the publication of the final voting results. The government must be formed no later than 90 days after the first parliamentary session – otherwise the new parliament could be disbanded.
