MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss new ideas within the context of the settlement of the Syrian crisis on May 6 with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov said Thursday.
“Our president will accept Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed Al-Thani,” Ushakov said.
Ushakov noted that Putin does not usually meet with foreign ministers as a rule.
“But a special agreement was reached here since during a telephone conversation held on April 19, the Qatari emir asked the president to receive the foreign minister who plans to discuss a few Qatari ideas and considerations in the context of the Syrian settlement with our president,” Ushakov said.
