MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The so-called silence regime in Syria's north Latakia and Aleppo regions will be extended for 72 hours starting May 7 at Russia's initiative, the Russian reconciliation center in Syria said Thursday.
"In order to prevent further deterioration of the situation, the 'silence regime' in northern areas of Latakia and in the city of Aleppo has been extended at the Russian side's initiative for 72 hours, starting 00:01 on May 7," the reconciliation center said in an update published on the Russian Defense Ministry's website.
