MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On May 9, Russia will commemorate the 71th anniversary of victory over the Nazi Germany in World War II and honor the memory of those who fought in the war in celebrations across the whole country.
In 2015, Moscow held the biggest ever military parade to remember the 70th anniversary of the Soviet contribution to the Allied victory in World War II, featuring over 15,000 service personnel and some 200 pieces of military equipment.
"Only 71 aircraft will appear at the general course at the appointed time, the rest will remain in reserve," the source told reporters, adding that the new Il-76MD-90A military transport aircraft and Su-35S multirole fighter were included in the rehearsal.
