MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – Bolivia is preparing to sign contracts on the export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) with Peru and Paraguay, Bolivian President Evo Morales announced.
"These days we are preparing it, the agreement will be signed with Peru and Paraguay," Morales confirmed on Friday, as quoted by La Razon.
According to Morales, the agreement will help Bolivia’s state-owned oil and gas company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) to provide services internationally.
Bolivia’s natural gas industry, as well as the country’s hydrocarbons sector overall, account for a significant portion of the nation’s GDP.
Morales has expressed concern over the recent decrease in natural gas prices.
