MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier media reports indicated the accident claimed 50 lives and injured about 60 individuals, most of them in critical condition.
"A total of 73 people were killed and several others wounded after two buses and an oil truck collided in Ghazni on Sunday morning," Ismahil Qawoosi told China’s Xinhua news agency.
The accident occurred in the Afghan southeastern Ghazni province on a highway between the country's capital of Kabul and the second largest city of Kandahar at about 6:30 a. m. local time (2:00 GMT).
