TALLINN (Sputnik) — The Spring Storm drills are taking place between May 2 and 20, with the participation of 6,000 servicemen, including 1,500 representing NATO allies.
"The Russian inspection group of four people will visit the compound of the second infantry brigade, as well as the Spring Storm command center, from where the Russian officers will be able to observe the activity of the Estonian army and NATO allies. The Russian officers will also conduct an observation flight over southeastern Estonia on an Estonian Air Force An-2," the statement reads.
The Russian officers will arrive in Estonia under the Vienna Document of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
Russian military inspectors visited Estonia in May 2015 to inspect the first infantry brigade. The Estonian military visited Russia the same month to conduct an observation flight under the Open Skies Treaty.
