According to the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman, the disclosure in Ukraine of personal data of journalists working in Donbas is a violation of international legal norms.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Various Ukrainian online media outlets on Tuesday leaked names, e-mails and mobile phones of some 5,000 journalists who had been accredited by the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic in eastern Ukraine.

"This move, obviously approved by the Kiev authorities, violates the provisions of the International Pact on civil and political rights and the European Convention on human rights, as well as Ukrainian laws, which stipulate that every individual has a right for protection from intrusion in one's private and family life," spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a commentary posted on the ministry's website.

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's (OSCE) is also concerned over journalists’ security in Ukraine amid recent violations of their privacy.
