WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The posture of the US military in Baghdad remains unchanged following the car bomb blasts in the Iraqi capital on Wednesday, Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command Commander Army Maj. Gen. Gary Volesky told reporters.
"It has not changed our posture here," Volesky stated on Wednesday. "The Iraqi Security Forces have not asked us for any assistance, they have got that well in hand."
Three bomb blasts in Baghdad killed more than 80 people and injured at least 140, according to various reports.
The Islamic State terrorist organization, also known as Daesh and outlawed by the United States and Russia, took responsibility for the attacks.
