MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The blacklist plan foresees the drafting of a list of foreign imams and other religious leaders who, according to the latest press release by the Danish Ministry of Immigration, Integration and Housing, have demonstrated "conduct that gives reason to believe that he or she will pose a threat to public order in Denmark if granted permission to enter the country."
"The list has just been politically proposed, so we're not so far yet. The law proposal will come during autumn," Mia Tang said.
An additional non-disclosed list will be compiled of EU citizens, as they and their family members cannot be subject to such restrictions, the Danish immigration authorities explained on their website.
The idea of a blacklist for so-called hate preachers was first floated in March when Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen announced his government was preparing legislation aimed at imams who "undermine society."
Currently, neighboring Norway is also reviewing its regulations covering the entry and residency of "hate preachers" in reaction to the invitation by the Norwegian Salafist organization Islam Net of several highly controversial preachers to its annual conference in March.
