WASHINGTON (Sputnik) —Trump and Ryan added that they have a "few" differences and many "important areas of common ground," and underscored the critical need to unite the Republican Party around shared principles.
"We will be having additional discussions, but remain confident there’s a great opportunity to unify our party and win this fall, and we are totally committed to working together to achieve that goal," Trump and Ryan stated in the statement.
"While we were honest about our few differences, we recognize that there are also many important areas of common ground."
Trump met with Ryan and Republican National Committee (RNC) head Reince Priebus at the RNC headquarters in Washington, DC to discuss uniting the party ahead of November’s presidential election.
