A delegation of US officials will meet with Cuban counterparts in Havana on Monday for the third Bilateral Commission gathering to review progress in restoration of ties between the two countries, the US Department of State announced in a press release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The State Department said the United States and Cuba will plan to engage on environmental protection, agriculture and maritime security, among other issues.

"The meeting will provide an opportunity to review progress on a number of shared priorities since the last Bilateral Commission meeting in November 2015, including progress made during the President’s historic trip to Cuba in March," the release stated on Thursday.

State Department Counselor Ambassador Kristie Kenney will lead the US delegation, while the Cuban side will be represented by Foreign Ministry’s Director General for US Affairs Josefina Vidal, according to the press release.
