CAIRO (Sputnik) — It is not worth making hasty conclusions about the reasons that led to the Russian A321 passenger jet crash over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, as the investigation is still underway, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry told Sputnik in an interview.
"The terrorist attack is a version within this criminal case. However, you should not make guesses until the prosecutor general brings charges against those who are guilty of the plane crash," Shoukry said.
In mid-April, Egypt's Prosecutor General Nabil Sadek said that the case of the Russian plane crash had been referred to the State Security Prosecution after receiving an official report from the Russian Investigative Committee, suggesting suspected criminal activity in the case.
Daesh, which is outlawed in Russia and many other countries, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Russia, the United Kingdom and a number of other countries imposed a ban on flights to and from Egypt after the tragedy.
