MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Afghan security forces killed 30 militants and wounded 30 more in several provinces in the past 24 hours, the Afghan Defense Ministry said in a statement issued on Saturday.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Afghan security and national defense forces have carried out joint operations aimed at toppling down the insurgents and protecting people's lives and financial affairs… which saw 30 terrorists killed, 30 wounded and three others arrested," the statement reads.
Security in Afghanistan has drastically deteriorated in recent months as both Taliban insurgents and Daesh group, outlawed in Russia, the United States and several other countries, have expanded their activities in the south of the country.
