The conference, running from May 18 to 22, will feature different activities including courses from Indian yoga masters, introducing yoga practice to communities, and a group yoga session for over 1,000 practitioners.
It is sponsored by the municipal government and jointly organized by the foreign affairs and overseas Chinese affairs offices under the municipal government and the China-India Yoga College in Kunming.
Yoga has been gaining popularity in China in recent years. The China-India Yoga College, the country's first yoga college, opened last November and has gathered together over 4,000 participants for free yoga sessions.
