MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The package proposed by the Federal Finance Ministry offers a bonus of 4,000 euros ($4,500) to those driving purely electric cars and 3,000 euros to pug-in hybrid owners.

The cash will be allocated from a federal fund of 600 million euros ($677 million), and the incentive program is expected to run until the end of 2019.

New electric cars will be exempted from vehicle taxes for a period of ten years. Business owners who let their employees charge electric cars at work will be encouraged to build EV charging stations with the money withheld from income tax.

The federal government also has an ambitious plan to spend 300 million euros ($388 million) on expanding the national network of EV charging stations in 2017-2020.
