MOSCOW (Sputnik) — World powers meeting in Vienna on Monday agreed to push for the lifting of a UN weapons embargo on Libya to arm the new UN-backed Government of National Accord in its fight against Islamists. The proposal does not include arms shipments to the Libyan Armed Forces.
"The Libyan Army wants to work with Russia, but no concrete agreements worth talking about have been made with the Russian leadership yet. They might be agreed in the near future," Libyan army spokesman Col. Ahmed Mismari said.
