CAIRO (Sputnik) – Following the ISSG meeting on Tuesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that the UN humanitarian agency World Food Programme should start carrying out air drops of humanitarian aid in Syria in case there was no access to the areas in need by June 1.
"We found interesting Kerry’s statement that humanitarian aid should be air dropped, if the access to all the areas is not secured by the end of May. We hope that it will eventually happen and there will be no hunger among the civilian population of besieged areas anymore," the spokesman for Syria’s Tomorrow said.
Syria’s Tomorrow emerged in March in a new bid to unite liberal opposition forces under one umbrella organization. It is headed by Ahmad Jarba, the former chief of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, better known as the Syrian National Coalition (SNC).
