WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US-led Coalition against the Islamic State has eliminated two high-level terrorists in the Iraqi Anbar province last week, Operations Inherent Resolve spokesman Col. Steve Warren told reporters on Wednesday.
"On May 13, we struck and killed two high-value individuals," Warren stated.
"Local fighters thought highly of him as of a motivator and a leader," Warren added.
Abu Hamza's associate, Abu Sophia, was responsible for staging chemical attacks in the Euphrates river valley, according to the Pentagon.
Daesh is a terrorist group outlawed in the United States, Russia and numerous other countries. The infamous group has seized large areas in Syria and Iraq and declared a caliphate on territories under its control.
The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been carrying out airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq since summer 2014.
