MOSCOW (Sputnik) – An Afghan police officer killed eight colleagues in the Zabul province, southern Afghanistan, local media reported Thursday, citing local authorities.

The attack occurred at a police check post on Kabul-Kandahar highway Wednesday night, Khaama Press news outlet reported.
The attack was perpetrated by the officer as well as two more assailants who were invited by the policeman to the check point as guests, security officials said.
All the attackers fled the crime scene and are now wanted by Afghan police that have already launched an investigation into the incident.
