Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani on his birthday, this time on the correct date, noting he had got it right this time.
Happy Birthday President @ashrafghani…got the date right this time.:)
— Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) 19 мая 2016 г.
Previously Modi had mistakenly greeted Ghani on the wrong date, February 12.
Happy birthday @ashrafghani. Praying for your long life & exceptional health and a joyful journey ahead.

President Ghani thanked him for his "gracious words" but gently corrected him, saying his birthday falls on May 19 and not February 12.
@narendramodi Greetings from Munich Mr. PM. Although, my Birthday is on 19th May, but I'd still like to thank you for your gracious words:)

This mistake was followed by a number of tweets trolling PM Modi and blaming Google for getting the date wrong.
@ashrafghani @narendramodi This is what happens when the internet becomes the 'source' of 'information.' Happy b'day in advance though:)
