MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has begun checking information published by media on the use of doping by Russian athletes at the Olympic Games in Beijing, London, and Sochi, the office’s spokesman said Thursday.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation together with other law enforcing agencies, the Sports Ministry, as well as with the Russian Olympic Committee is checking information published in a range of media and the World Anti-Doping Agency [WADA] on the use of doing by Russian athletes in the Olympics in Beijing, London, and Sochi,” Alexander Kurennoy said.
He said that the Prosecutor General’s Office plans to send requests to the appropriate organs in the United States and a number of other countries, as well as to WADA, to exchange information on the alleged use of doping during the Games.
