Brunei Interested in Purchase of Russia-Made Sukhoi Superjet 100 Planes

Brunei expressed its interest in the purchase of the Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.

SOCHI (Sputnik) — Peskov did not rule out possible Sukhoi superjet aircraft deliveries: 

"Deliveries of our Superjet 100 planes are possible," Peskov said following the talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin with Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah.

The Superjet 100 is a twin-engine regional passenger airliner, which completed its maiden flight in 2008 and was first commercialized in 2011. The aircraft can transport up to 98 passengers at a distance of up to 2,700 miles, and costs around $36 million in its basic configuration.

According to the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft company, it sells its aircraft to Russia, CIS countries, China, India, the Middle East countries and Southeast Asia.
