Nepal Earthquake Anniversary: Public’s Mental Health Takes a Toll
The 43-year-old mountaineer had complained to his teammates about feeling unwell during the descent. "He had suffered a bout of snow blindness earlier in the day and stopped breathing around 4:00 pm (10:15 GMT)," Mingma Sherpa, a managing director of the Seven Summit Treks and the expedition organizer told reporters. Bhattacharya's body is still lying in the camp and due to treacherous terrain it will be very difficult to bring it down, he added.

The veteran Indian climber scaled Mount Everest in 2011 and Mount Kanchenjunga in 2013.
