MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Lavrov and Shoukry spoke on the phone earlier Saturday.
"Segrei Lavrov expressed his sincerest condolences over the crash of the EgyptAir plane and the death of Egyptian citizens on May 19, 2016," the statement read.
On Thursday, the EgyptAir Airbus A320 plane, carrying a total of 66 people, disappeared from radar screens over the Mediterranean Sea, 10 miles into Egyptian airspace. The plane was headed from Paris to Cairo.
