Athletes whose retested 2012 doping probes prove to be positive will be banned from the 2016 Olympic Games, World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Craig Reedie said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said on Tuesday that its Executive Board has requested the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to retest doping samples of athletes who had taken part in the Beijing, London and Sochi Olympic Games.

"I would hope that because of the success of the pre-Games testing programme run by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) and the IOC that the London samples do not deliver as many positives… But if they do, then the same process will have to be undergone: they will not be in Rio," Reedie told the Insidethegames.biz portal.
