MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Tkachev was included in the EU sanction list in 2014 when he was the governor of the Krasnodar Territory. In January, German authorities denied him a visa and as a result a Russian delegation did not participate in the annual European trade fair Green Week in Berlin, for the first time in almost 23 years.
"On May 22, a delegation of the Russian Agriculture Ministry headed by minister Alexander Tkachev participated in the work of the 84th General Assembly of the World Organization for Animal Health that takes place in Paris in May 22–27, 2016," the statement of the ministry said.
