ARKHANGELSK (Russia) (Sputnik) — Russian authorities have decided to prioritize 145 projects on Arctic development worth 4.8 billion rubles (over $71.6 million), the chairman of State Commission on Arctic Development said Tuesday.
"According to the materials presented by the Ministry of Economic Development, 145 projects with a total volume of financing within the limits of 4.8 billion rubles, including nearly 4 billion rubles from extra-budgetary sources, were included in the priority list," Dmitry Rogozin told the commission's meeting.
Rogozin added that 17 projects worth some 2.8 billion rubles were determined as the most promising.
The state commission was created in February 2015 to coordinate federal, regional and local authorities, as well as other state organizations and business entities efforts to develop the Russian Arctic region.
