NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – A number of people killed in an explosion at a chemical plant in the Indian state of Maharashtra reached five, local media reported Thursday.
Earlier reports put the number of killed in the Thursday blast at three.
According to NDTV broadcaster, more than a hundred people got injured in the incident that occurred in the city of Dombivali 31 miles from the state capital of Mumbai after a boiler exploded and a fire ensued.
The Maharashtra authorities launched an investigation into the explosion.
