"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted two strikes using attack and remotely piloted aircraft against Daesh targets," the statement said on Friday. "Additionally in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 23 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using bomber, attack, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft and against Daesh targets."
Near the Daesh’s stronghold of Raqqa in Syria, one strike destroyed two of the terror group’s oil pump jacks. An additional airstrike near Ayn Isa destroyed two vehicles and hit a tactical unit, the release noted.
In Iraq, the coalition conducted 23 airstrikes near nine cities, including three near Fallujah that destroyed two fighting positions, five weapons caches and a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).
An additional eight airstrikes near Mosul destroyed a fighting position, four vehicles and four assembly areas, CENTCOM added.
The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been conducting airstrikes in Syria and Iraq since the summer of 2014.
On Tuesday, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced launching an offensive with coalition help to retake the northern part of Syria’s Raqqa province.
