BELBEK AIRFIELD (Sputnik) – The top military commander said the annual contest would involve Russia’s long-range aircraft, military-transport planes, as well as army, fighter, bomber and assault aircraft.
"We inspected all the equipment involved, checked fuel and ammunition. The competition also involves aircraft [maintenance] technicians, who will be evaluated for the quality of service for certain aircraft," Bondarev told reporters.
Military pilots will test their accuracy, navigation, aerobatics and endurance skills at three Crimean air fields on May 28-June 5. Winners of the contest would represent the Russian Aerospace Forces at the international leg of Aviadarts in late July-early August in the western city of Ryazan.
The Aviadarts show is an annual competition to test flight skills and precision shooting organized by the Russian Defense Ministry. The contest, which features fighter jets, bombers and other aircraft, was first held in Russia in 2013.
