MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The "Biopolymer" experiment is aimed at creating new polymer materials resistant to cryodestruction – destruction caused by low temperature, according to Ivanishin.
"Altogether we will conduct 39 scientific experiments," Ivanishin said adding that there would be a number of tests in space biology, biotechnology and physic-chemical processes.
One more goal of the test is to develop such a biopolymer structure that will stop the processes of microbiological corrosion.
The crew is also going to conduct experiments to study human pain sensitivity during a space flight as well as to monitor condition of the external atmosphere and ISS upper working surface, the crew chief said.
He added that the Russian ISS segment will also carry out the "Response" test aimed at gaining information about impacts of micrometeorites 0.04-0.004 inches in size.
