"The ministry has decided to send six experts to France to work at the Center of International Police Cooperation, which has been established specifically for the event," the ministry said in a statement.
"Russian policemen will stay in France for as long as the Russian national team plays in the tournament," the statement said.
Russian law enforcement personnel will be present at all games involving the Russian football team at the 2016 World Cup to be held in France, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said Tuesday.
According to the minister, France is taking "unprecedented measures" to ensure safety during the tournament.
"Today, football is threatened by potential attacks, because the games always gather large crowds of fans. The popularity of the sport makes it a sort of target for terrorists," Mutko told reporters, adding that, "we trust our colleagues."
The French capital fell victim to a series of terrorist attacks on November 13. The attacks claimed the lives of 130 people and left over 350 injured, raising concerns about global terrorism and stirring Europe to reinforce its safety and security measures.
