RAMALLAH (Sputnik) — France brokered a ministerial meeting on Israel-Palestinian conflict in Paris slated for June 3, which neither Palestine nor Israel are expected to attend.
"Arab countries, participating in the Paris conference on June 3, will represent the viewpoint of the Palestinian Authority," Maliki said.
Nearly 30 foreign ministers from different countries will convene in Paris for discussions to restart peace process and to get ready for the Israeli-Palestinian summit.
Palestinians seek diplomatic recognition for their independent state on the territories of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which is partially occupied by Israel, and the Gaza Strip. Israel has been building settlements on the occupied territories despite objection from the United Nations.
