VIENNA (Sputnik) – The Russian LUKoil company may leave its joint venture with Saudi Arabia’s Aramco, Luksar Energy, and needs more time to assess the situation, the firm’s president said Wednesday.
"The economics of the Luksar project is currently very difficult, we have taken more time for consideration and then we shall make a a decision," Vagit Alekperov told reporters, adding that his company’s exit from the project was possible.
Alekperov is currently in Vienna ahead of the June 2 Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) summit.
