MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Greece is against the automatic extension of sanctions against Russia and believes that all members of the European Union need to be able to express their pros and cons on extending or easing them, Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Nikos Xydakis told Sputnik.
“How do we unblock the situation and move from an automatic extension to an essential conversation and discussion? It’s necessary that we voice the arguments from all sides, from the sides that want the extension of sanctions and from those that want them lifted and to have ‘warm’ relations with Russia. Then the arguments will speak for themselves,” Xydakis said.
