BANGKOK (Sputnik) — The clashes between the Thai troops and the militants continued for two hours and ended at about 7 a.m. local time (00:00 GMT), according to the Bangkok Post newspaper.
After entering the camp, soldiers reportedly spotted blood stains, which could indicate that some militants fled. The servicemen seized two AK-47 and two M16 rifles.
Islamist groups operating in the Thailand southern provinces, including Narathiwat, Yala and Pattani, have been fighting the country's government since 2004.
