VIENNA(Sputnik) — Baghdad has been holding discussions with International Oil Companies (IOC) in order to maintain and increase oil production levels in the country, Iraqi Oil Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi said Thursday.
"We are in discussions with IOCs in order to invite investors to proceed for the future increase and maintain some production," the Iraqi minister told reporters.
Iraq is OPEC’s second largest oil maker. It produces over four million barrels a day in territories including Kurdistan, and exports 3.2 million barrels.
