Russian filmmakers have produced a short film which shows surfers riding the waves in the toughest of conditions: in the Arctic Ocean off the coast of Russia's Far North.
"Here, you rely on yourself and on your own strength – and your confidence that you'll get out of the water after yet another round," explains one surfer.
They shot the 24-minute long movie after over a year of filming at different locations in the Murmansk region, in the Arctic Circle.
"People often say they went surfing in the Arctic, and it sounds like they have surfed here. But the truth is that very few people in the world have surfed in the real Arctic Ocean, and only a handful in Russia," one surfer said.
"Here, in the Russian part of the Arctic Ocean the conditions are really tough."
