MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli signed an agreement on economic and technical cooperation.
"Under the agreement, Beijing will allocate Tbilisi gratuitous aid amounting to 60 million yuan [$9.1 million]. The funds will be used to improve the health infrastructure in the regions of Georgia, where the outpatient and inpatient services will be introduced, the center of crisis intervention, as well a psycho-social rehabilitation department for children and adolescents," the statement read.
China is one of five major trading partners of Georgia. In February, the negotiations between the two countries were launched on the establishment of a free trade zone. The parties expect to finalize them by the end of the year.
