PARIS (Sputnik) – A total of four people died and 24 were injured in flood caused by heavy rains in France, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said Saturday.
Earlier reports put the number of the freshet victims at three.
"As of now, four people were killed and twenty-four sustained injuries," Valls told reporters after a meeting at the Interior Ministry's crisis center.
The prime minister added that the river Seine water level in Paris remained at over 6 meters (19 feet), record levels for the past 34 years.
