A total of 18 two-man shovel-wielding teams competed during the event. The participants’ goal was to dig a grave approximately 6.5 feet long, 2.6 feet wide and 5.2 feet deep.
It took the winning team less than half an hour to achieve this result, according to DW. The victors are now expected to take part in an international tournament where they’ll be facing teams from Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The representatives of the winning Hungarian team said that they don’t think there’s anything morbid or disgusting about the contest, and that it was meant to make the gravedigging profession more popular and attractive to young people.
