"The [anti-PKK] operation will be carried out in Lice district… In order to ensure safety of people's lives and property and to prevent [possible] damage to the civilian population, since June 4, 2016, 10:30 [07:30 GMT] it is forbidden to go outside in the area of the operation until further notice," the statement said.
According to the statement, local population will be notified about the end of the curfew by the authorities.
In summer 2015, Turkey initiated a military campaign against the PKK militant group in the country's southeastern regions, mostly inhabited by Kurds. Since the beginning of the campaign, Ankara has imposed several round-the-clock curfews, preventing civilians from fleeing the regions where the military operations are taking place.
The PKK, considered a terrorist group in Turkey, was founded in 1978 near the town of Lice to support self-determination for Turkish Kurds.
