WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US police has notified the Russian Consulate of the arrest of a Russian national, Olga Pimanova, in Chicago, a spokesman for the US Department of State said Saturday.
"The Cook County Police Department notified the Russian Consulate of the arrest. We refer you to Cook County authorities for further details," the spokesman told RIA Novosti.
At the same time, a representative of the Cook County Police Department told RIA Novosti that he had no information on the issue.

The press service of the consulate told RIA Novosti that there were no new information as of Friday evening, when the diplomats had requested official information from the US authorities, but still had nor received any official information about the detention.
Commenting on the woman's arrest, Russian Children's Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov said that the Russian Foreign Ministry and the embassy in the United States would provide assistance to the Russian citizen who was arrested for taking her daughter out of the country two years ago.
