MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Friday, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he would participate in the upcoming NATO summit in Warsaw, where he plans to present Ukraine's Strategic Defense Bulletin adopted as part of reforms required for NATO accession.
"Regarding Ukraine, submission to the NATO power seriously undermines the credibility of this country already mired in corruption. It is also a first step towards membership. It would be a historic mistake for Europe. Therefore, I oppose with force to the accession of Ukraine to NATO," Ferrand, who is also a member of the French National Front party, said.
Ukraine dropped its non-aligned status in 2014, opening the way for NATO membership and drawing criticism from Russia and many other states.
