KIEV (Sputnik) — According to the SBU head, citing French terrorist detained in Ukraine, the extremists were planning to explode a mosque, a synagogue, a tax collection agency and highway observation points, among others.
"The [Ukrainian] security service managed to prevent a series of 15 terrorist attacks which were planned in France before and during the UEFA European Championship which is supposed to begin on June 10, 2016. Much work was carried out, a big team of security service staff was working on it," Hrytsak told a press conference.
Earlier it was reported that Daesh terrorists are planning a series of attacks on Russian and English football fans when the two teams face off in Marseille as part of the preliminary stage of Euro 2016.
Russian law enforcement personnel will be present at all games involving the Russian football team at the 2016 World Cup to be held in France, Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said earlier.
